Olds Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours Program

| About the Program Chamber members now have a new means of showcasing their businesses via the "Business After Hours" Program. This program provides business owners with an opportunity to gain exposure for their products or services by hosting an event at their place of business. Smaller or similar types of businesses (i.e. financial institutions, restaurants, dealerships, etc.) can "share" the hosting role, either on-site or at a location of choice. Creativity can be introduced into these events through theme evenings, demonstrations, taste tests, business "crawls", etc. - the opportunities are limited only by your imagination!
These events have been very well received in other communities. In addition to the obvious opportunity to gain exposure for businesses, it provides a perfect environment for networking and the development of new business contacts. Anyone interested in participating in this program is invited to contact the Chamber Office by phone at 403-556-7070 or by E-Mail at oldscham@telusplanet.net. The inaugural event was held on Thursday, October 4, 2001. The law firm of Martinson & Harder graciously offered to host this function from their offices in the historic Shackleton Home, located at No. 1, 5401 - 49 Avenue, Olds. At the inaugural event in October, 2001, members were asked for input and ideas pertaining to these events and a sign up sheet was available for those businesses wishing to host an event. |

A "Business After Hours" sub-committee has been struck to establish criteria for hosting events, to facilitate the planning and promotion of events, and to ensure that appropriate feedback mechanisms are in place.
