 LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
In 2000/2001, a two year Leadership Development program aimed at developing and promoting personal and community leadership was offered by the Olds Chamber. Due to its success, the Chamber, along with partners The Blooming Lodge, CAREERS ... The Next Generation, Olds College, and the Innisfail Agricultural Society, received another grant from the Wild Rose Foundation to run a second two year program. Adult leadership training will result in skills being passed back into the community; youth will take their skills with them as they move on and contribute to society. BUSINESS AFTER HOURS
The Olds Chamber has been promoting "Business After Hours" events since 2001. This gives Chamber members a new means of showcasing their businesses, providing an opportunity to gain exposure for their products or services by hosting an event at their place of business. SEAL LUNCHEON
The Chamber organizes the Staff/Employee Appreciation Luncheon in April every year. This luncheon usually sells out prior to the event and in the past, featured a Fashion Show featuring garments made and retailed in the Olds area.
PANCAKE BREAKFAST
The Chamber has been sponsoring a Pancake Breakfast during the Olds Fair & Rodeo since 1996. Held every August in Olds, the breakfast is an enormous success with over 1,500 people filling up on flapjacks, coffee, and sausages. The 2010 Pancake Breakfast will be held on Saturday, August 7th in support of the Chuckwagon Event taking place that weekend.
 BUSINESS AWARDS WEEK
The Olds & District Chamber of Commerce celebrates Business Awards Week each October, hosting workshops, seminars, breakfasts, luncheons and wine & cheese events; closing out the celebrations with a grand banquet. A "Business of the Year - 15 or fewer employees", a "Business of the Year - 16+ employees" and a "Community Spirit (any number of employees)". Award is presented at the Olds Chamber Awards Banquet the later part of October for each respective year.
Youth Employee of the Year Award - This award is to recognize the “above and beyond” work practices and work ethics from youth in the workforce in the community of Olds. The business community/employer is being invited to nominate an employee between the age of 13 and 17 years of age whom they think worthy of this award! The Business Awards Week Selection Committee evaluates criteria as outlined in the nomination form for the Youth Employee of the Year Award. Citizens of the Community are encouraged to nominate a local business and employees of local businesses for the "People's Choice Award" and the "Exceptional Customer Service Award". Ballots for these two awards are available July, August & September in the Town Newsletter, in the local newspaper as well as the Olds Chamber Website. Please visit the Olds Chamber Business Awards Week page for criteria and the ballots pertaining to these 2 awards. NOMINATION DEADLINE FOR THESE 2 AWARDS IS SEPTEMBER OF EACH RESPECTIVE YEAR.
Recipients of all Awards are announced at the Olds Chamber Awards Banquet in October. Business Week pays tribute to the owners and managers of small and medium sized enterprises. The recognition & celebrations is a great reminder to the entire community of the tremendous contribution small business makes to our local economy.

OLDS FASHIONED CHRISTMAS
The Olds Chamber helps the community promote activities held during "Olds Fashioned Christmas", a series of community, cultural and recreational events that take place during November and December. For more information, please see our Olds Fashioned Christmas page.
VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION EVENT
The Chamber of Commerce recognizes the incredible efforts put forth by our volunteers at the annual Appreciation Event held late in the fall. A guest speaker, holiday music, great entertainment and refreshments are simple but sincere acknowledgement to those who give their time to our efforts throughout the year.
WORKSHOPS & SEMINARS
Throughout each year the Olds & District Chamber of Commerce hosts Workshops and Seminars that are of an educational nature for the Olds & Area Business Community. The Olds Chamber sources out motivational speakers and offers workshops and seminars that are of great benefit to businesses.
