Plans are underway for the Annual Business Awards Week Celebrations which take place this year from October 22nd to 27th hosted by the Olds & District Chamber of Commerce. Each year Business Awards Week features activities which strengthen the entrepreneurial business community by providing networking opportunities, informative speakers, partnering, and an awards ceremony to celebrate successful business achievements. The Olds Chamber is currently requesting nominations in 2 categories: "Business of the Year" and "Community Spirit Award" These nominations cease July 15, 2007.

NOMINATE YOUR BUSINESS OF CHOICE FOR THE BUSINESS
OF THE YEAR AND/OR COMMUNITY SPIRIT 2007

We encourage financial institutions, businesses and people of our community to support our Business Awards Week by nominating businesses for all or any of the following 2007 Business Awards: Business of the Year - 10 or less employees Business of the Year - 11 - 34 employees Business of the Year - 35+ employees Community Spirit Award - any size business with any number of employees Nomination forms will be included in the June 2007 Newsletter, will be available at Olds Chamber events, and are also available at the Olds Chamber Office 556-7070.

ADVANTAGES FOR YOU TO NOMINATE A BUSINESS(S) & ADVANTAGES TO HAVING THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION EARLY THIS YEAR: We will be profiling the Nominated Businesses (August - October 2007) in the news media (radio, newspaper, newsletter, etc). GREAT ADVERTISING & FREE ADVERTISING FOR THE BUSINESS The nominated businesses can indicate in any of their advertising/promotion that they have been nominated for the award. Will There Be Other Awards Associated with Business Awards Week - October 22 - 27, 2007? Yes, we will be having "The People's Choice Award" and the "Exceptional Customer Service Award". These awards will be introduced in July/August once Business of the Year and Community Spirit Nominations have ceased. We will be encouraging the community to nominate a business(s) and/or an employee they think worthy of this award. The People's Choice Award and Exceptional Customer Service Award will be advertised in the newspaper, radio, newsletters, Chamber events, etc. for August and September. We will have ballots & ballot boxes in select locations around town for people to nominate the business and/or employee of choice for The People's Choice Award and Exceptional Customer Service Award. Deadline for nominations for these two awards is September 30, 2007 and announcement of the recipients will be made at the October 25, 2007 Awards Banquet. As with the Business of the Year and Community Spirit Nominations, those businesses nominated for The People's Choice Award and Exceptional Customer Service Award will be profiled / advertised in the newspaper, local radio, newsletters, etc.
