PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Olds Chamber President, Stephen Dodwell, manager of the Pomeroy Inn and Suites in Olds Alberta.It is hard to believe that it is almost the end of July already. Summer is quickly slipping by! Hopefully everyone finds time to be outdoors to enjoy the long awaited sunshine.

Our next Luncheon Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 14th. We will have RCMP Representatives share information on "Robbery Prevention" and the Community Lifestyles Committee speaking on "Age Friendly" initiatives.

The 2nd leg finish of the Tour of Alberta Bike Race will occur in Olds on September 2nd. The Tour of Alberta Committee is reaching out to the community to create a very special experience for residents and visitors.

The Board of Directors has scheduled a "Brainstorming Session" for August. We are open to any ideas or suggestions you may have and we would like to encourage you to get involved by volunteering on committees or at our events.

BUSINESS AWARDS CELEBRATIONS

Celebrating successful businesses in Olds.Each year, the Olds & District Chamber of Commerce participates in Business Awards Recognition & Celebrations, a nationwide celebration of entrepreneurship. Business Awards Recognition & Celebrations features activities which strengthen the entrepreneurial business community by providing networking opportunities, informative speakers, partnering, and several events to celebrate successful business achievements.

Nomination Forms are now available for 2016. The winners in each of the eight categories are chosen by a "Business Awards Selection Committee" who review the nominations and select the best possible recipient based on the information provided.

On September 22nd, the Olds Chamber will host a "Business, Beer & Blue Jeans" Event to announce and congratulate all the nominees in the eight categories. On October 13th, the Olds Chamber will host the Business Awards Banquet where nominees are again announced and the recipient of the award in each of the categories is revealed.
